China International Textile Feedstock Market Forum (Tanboocel 2011)(2011)

Organized by China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) and China Chemical & Fiber Economic Information Network (CCFEI), China Textile Feedstock Market Forum (Tanboocel 2011) was held during 26-27 May, 2011. The Forum is participated by around 150 representatives from China and international cotton associations, chemical fiber institutes, consultants and enterprises, including China Cotton Association, China National Development and Reform Commission, Cotton Council International, Oerlikon Textile, PCI, Cargill Investments...etc.
During the Forum, participants changed ideas on textile feedstock dynamics and seek for new methods of cooperation within the industry. Speakers talked about the fragile demand/supply balance in global cotton market, impact on China viscose industry from short pulp supply, measures taken by China government to ensure feedstock supply for chemical fiber industry during the 12th Five-year Plan period... Speaker from Tanboocel Industry Federation introduced the bamboo fibers, a new material with great developing potential. And participants came to the common consensus, that with expanding demand, chemical fibers will see growing market share as cotton will no longer be a cheap feedstock, and its an urgent task to develop new and high-tech fibers, as well as recycled fibers.
